Jordan S. Rubin founded Garden of Life, Inc. in 2000 after overcoming an incurable disease - one that nearly ended his life. When both conventional and alternative medicines failed and left him wheelchair bound at death's door, he took matters into his own hands. Today, he credits his survival and vibrant health to an enduring faith in God and a revolutionary health program he calls The Maker's Diet.
Jordan founded Garden of Life and originally formulated its proprietary line of more than 30 nutritional formulas to support overall good health. He co-developed a proprietary fermentation process known as Poten-Zyme ™. Jordan and his team at Garden of Life are on a mission to change the way America eats and lives by redefining a healthy lifestyle.
Since his recovery, Rubin has dedicated his life to sharing his dynamic health programs including authoring such well known books as "Restoring Your Digestive Health: How the Guts and Glory Program Can Transform Your Life" (May 2003, Kensington Publishing); and The New York Times bestseller "The Maker's Diet: the 40 day health experience to change your life forever" (April 2004, Siloam).
Rubin was named, by Vitamin Retailer, as one of the most influential people making the greatest impact on the natural products industry over the past decade. Others recognized for this honor are Dr. Atkins, Dr. Matthias Rath, Dr. Andrew Weil and Senator Tom Harkin.
In June 2004, Garden of Life was named the 5th fastest growing business in America by Entrepreneur magazine.
South Florida Business Journal voted Garden of Life a Finalist in their selection for the Best of the Best companies in South Florida. In addition to be honored as a finalist, we were given a special mention award to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments achieved by the entire organization.
